GROWING NEED TO ATTRACT NEWCOMERS

The Grounds Management Association (GMA) say their latest Annual Workforce Survey is publishing this month.

Including industry insights and statistics, the association says the report highlights the growing need for the sector to be attracting newcomers to ensure a sufficient talent pipeline for the future.

In a statement the GMA said, "With over 3,200 professional grounds people due to retire over the next three years, and over 60% of volunteers aged over 55, the grounds care sector is facing a recruitment crisis and must work together with industry partners and educators to attract the next generation.

"But it is not all bad news as the sector has a lot to offer with 85% of professionals being satisfied with their job."
